CREATIVE MINDS COME TOGETHER

My name is Blake M. Nielson, and I attend Orange County School of the Arts. Currently, I am in the Film and Television Conservatory studying the art of filmmaking. I have a deep commitment to pursuing a career in film. I have enjoyed numerous hands-on experiences directing, work as the cinematographer, producing, writing and editing films, shorts, narrative web series, and commercial productions. Over the last four years, my work has been submitted to national film festivals. Creating new worlds, filling it with characters that I get to help form, creating the look, tone, mood, or even just being on set and leading a team of filmmakers, helping create the end-result project is what I love to do. Thinking about what makes someone do something is interesting to me and helping an actor find the emotion within themselves is so interesting. Working as cinematography I love hearing a director read the script, seeing the film unfold in my head is an amazing feeling. Being on set with breakdowns, overheads, storyboards, and shot lists and creating an image I thought up the first time I heard the script.
